The Library of the Future Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine: Beginning a Construction

The mission for the prefiguration of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine has produced the programme for this future « Cité », situated in the Paris wing of the Palais de Chaillot. It will be composed of a museum, an agency which will take charge of exhibitions, debates, publishing, training, etc., a library and common services. The author of this article here presents the projected library. She sketches out the mainlines of the programme and develops some points which illustrate the singular nature of the challenges this project poses and which it offers.
