Observation of Internet Usage in Different Places of Public Access
Beyond professional uses and private practices, information and communication technology has given a place to a third category of uses, those which are held in places of public access: cybercafes, libraries, cultural centres..., but also places dedicated to explaining multimedia - the Internet in particular - and to the realization of personal projects, often created under the initiative of local organizations. Such centres are multiplying and, when certain conditions arise, enjoying remarkable success. Observation of this field is a major source of inspiration for taking account of questions raised by this new social activity in which libraries are certainly called on to play a role at the forefront.
