Documentation Policies in Teacher Training Institutes: A Plural Reality

The creation of new teacher training institutes in 1990-1991 was accompanied by necessary reform of the documentation structures of the old écoles normales. Médiathèques have gradually infiltrated themselves into the centres of documentation and information, organized themselves into networks and regrouped themselves at the heart of common documentation services. What changes has this induced in the missions and functions of these services ? Documentation policy has been developed to recover a plural reality, nevertheless the management of collections and the formalization of an acquisition policy appear uncontestedly as the pre-requisites for the development of an offer of services to users, notably in the matter of training and the research of information.
