The Bibliographic Resources of the Bibliothèque nationale de France: the Bibliographic Policy of Fresnes Library

On the occasion of its computerized re-equipment, Fresnes public library has prepared to integrate the complete resources of the new information system at the BnF to create a cohesive research tool for documentary resources of all kinds (internal cd-rom network, printed and other collections, Internet site). The authority file of the BnF will, for the first time, function as the motor for research, at the service of the training, information and cultural programmes of a public library. The first stage of this experiment allows us to understand the impact of this choice on the possibilities of opac, process of acquisition and management of collections, as well as on information and reception functions.
