The Bibliothèque publique d'information twenty years after

The BPI is going to celebrate its 20th birthday and to begin a deep restructuring of its services. The author mentions the difficulties caused by the massive free access and by the problems raised by the technological experimentation of the new means of diffusion of information. In front of the increasing confusion of the demand, it is necessary to clarify the offers, to set up a simple share of knowledge and supports, to propose differentiated itineraries to all the publics, notably the public who has left an institution yet made for it.
