School-librarians : a profession in questions

In secondary schools, librarians manage the centres de documentation et d'information (CDI). Within teams, they elaborate educational programmes and training device to bring pupils to information control. A decisive stage, for a job now professionalized, is the creation, in 1989, of the Capes de documentation, which gives to school librarians the statute of teachers. The world of information is changing, but the educational system does not seem to have taken the measure of a profession which wants to take a daily account of the culture of information, from which an internal and external questioning towards a constantly evolving profession.
