Training sessions to CD-Rom in the Bibliothèque publique d'information

Today, in their collections, libraries offer computerised documents among which CD-Rom are definitely the most often shown. But is it possible « to read » a CD-Rom as we read a book ? Isn't it necessary to know codes, procedures to reach our document and to exploit it ? To help users dealing with this new media, now essential in document retrieval, the BPI organizes training sessions guided by a team of librarians (free and open to everyone). During 1 h 30, librarians try to give basic technical informations, to suggest what is a documentary tool from the intellectual point of view and to warn against an apparent easiness.
