German Art Libraries : the Art Libraries Association, an exemple of shared acquisitions
Germany doesn't have National Art Library neither National Library. Concerning art, we may speak of a « decentralized National Art Library » composed of a network of seven associated regional libraries, specialized in art history, which cooperate for the acquisitions. Even if these all institutions cannot collect in the same way, their collections (1,9 million volumes) represent a real National Library about European art history, available in every Land and at the national level.
