IFLA : expression of librarians' identity
Created in 1927, IFLA regroups now the librarians' associations of more than 120 countries. Expression of professionnal identity, IFLA, which had to defend the wellfare of librarians during World War II, is more and more perceived as a myth. The ostentation of the annual meeting, first called Council and then General Conference (otherwise Congress) grows constantly and attracts professionnals always more numerous.
