Enterprising mind : the libraries of the work's councils

Presentation of the results of an inquiry about resources, cultural activities and libraries of the work's councils. The funds allocated to these activities and services are limited. But they seem to be maximised because of the voluntaries working in the work's councils : in their libraries, 70 % of the budget is devoted to acquisitions. Two-third of the work's councils have libraries ; most of them have been created in the years 60. Their size and surface do not depend on the wealth of the councils, but on the balance of powers with the authorities of the firm. The access means, as well as the collection are most varied. The public consists of the staff of the firm for 20 %. This type of library offers a flexible and clever structure which can face various situations.
