Forewarn the babies !
If babies are given books before they can read, they will be able to listen to tales and browse among books in their own way. This early contact is necessary to seize language and to build up an inner life : this is important for the child's cultural and social insertion. The contacts should be established in free and extensive moments, and wished by the adult as well as the child. They can be furthered by meetings beetween professionals in nurseries, schools and libraries.
