An international serial data system : ISDS.

ISDS is a system that was established to promote international exchange of bibliographical information on serial: it manages the ISSN (international standard serial number); it settles and disseminates specific and updated data (especially Keyterm) for serial identification; and it facilitates coordination between all users of these data (publishers, libraries and information centers, etc...). This system is organized into a network of national centers and one national agency (CIEPS), which collects all the serial accessions and entries into a central file. This data-base opens to utilizations and products which vary along with the developing use of ISDS system as a basic instrument for any action related to periodicals.
