Unsold books : sales and book pulping.

The article concerns a misrecognized subject : treatment reserved to unsold books by publishers : - Sales, which are a parallel way of diffusion among other distribution networks, will probably increase. - Although it is the usual practice to pulp books (about 20 millions volums a year), it remains a hidden and forbidden subject. The article studies technical and economical aspects of those two channels and investigates the consequences of the new policy for books : net book agreement, and Pingaud-Barreau committee report. Sales, which represent now the only solution for unsold books, should be a regulative instrument of book marketing.
