Study tour in Germany : 17-30 June 1979

Participants in this study tour wished to see in operation some German libraries which they knew only in theory. In this report are presented libraries with a national mission, a regional library, university libraries, a specialized library, a municipal library, library education and a library science institution. These institutions were selected because they ensured a knowledge of German librarianship which enabled participants to understand the importance and scope of some specific solutions such as units in new university libraries, the evolution of the national acquisition plan, staff training and library research and development.
