French multimedia libraries in the Europe of 27
The missions of the multimedia libraries of the 107 French cultural establishments opened throughout the 27-member European community are, primarily, to provide information on France and disseminate French culture; to support cultural activities and French language learning; and to cooperate with local libraries. This article proposes a typology of these French multimedia libraries-information centres, with a special look at those of the new EU member states, Romania and Bulgaria.
