Bulgarian libraries in the new millennium
This article presents Bulgarian libraries through their history, the European harmonisation under way and the challenges they face today, in relation to their modernisation. It describes some of the many local, regional and national initiatives, particularly those of the association of library and information professionals (ULISO), the importance of which is emphasised. There is also a separate text on the SS Cyril and Methodius National Library.
