The library and young readers: a place to open up and to share
Public libraries must be instrumental in the development of cultural democratisation, an objective supported by local communities through their elected members. However, culture and libraries intimidate some members of the community and the cultural activities of libraries must therefore be re-examined. The author of the article strongly advocates the close collaboration between schools, a place where reading is taught, and public libraries, a place of reading for pleasure.
