The Electronic Academic Press: An Analysis of the Offerings of Intermediaries

The distribution of the academic press in electronic form has experienced accelerating growth. A group of heterogeneous participants known by the terms « intermediaries » or « aggregators » has begun services whose common denominator is the federation of access to titles from different publishers and the integration of these into a range of complementary products. This article presents an initial reading grid for these offerings across fifteen representative participants.
