The National library CD-ROM and the European project

In 1988, the National library published its first CD-ROM in cooperation with the British library. The National French bibliography since 1975 on CD-ROM (450 000 bibliographic notes) is published every three months. Online, a human-engineered software, provides a lot of accesses. At a European level, seven national libraries decided to form a consortium and study an easy and user-friendly access to the different bibliographies, a more efficient cataloguing and a common approach to bibliographic data retrieval on CD-ROM.
