Europe of information

In spite of the important efforts made last years in research and development programs, Europe is more and more behind the Far-East and the USA, as far as technology and industry are concerned, mainly regarding equipment and systems or commerce of information. The author exposes the lack of consistency in the existing practices at the community level and within each State ; he judges the multiple actions in progress or in preparation severely. In order to give Europe a new start, he suggests to develop a European information policy according to the following trends : integration strategy, products policy, autonomy of each partner and development of models. Any national initiative could take place within a European programme framework.
