The emergence of digital regional planning: France's national programme for digital reference libraries
The French Ministry of Culture's programme to develop digital information retrieval has proved popular with local authorities, with some thirty libraries having already acquired digital reference library status. The programme, now being rolled out at département, conurbation, and soon mid-size urban zone level, will help even out digital coverage across the country by promoting a range of diverse projects.
