Digital accessibility: accessible web portals and disability-friendly libraries
Providing an accessible web portal is a legal obligation that many French libraries are finding challenging to implement. To guide them in the process, the French government has created a tool to test digital accessibility, with highly encouraging results. To qualify as inclusive, libraries must also seek to improve access for disabled users. A charter for disability-friendly libraries would be a big step in the right direction.
