Four years on from the LRU law at the Grenoble 2 university library

Three years on from his previous article on the topic for BBF, Frédéric Saby looks back at the shift to administrative, financial and asset autonomy, which took place in 2011 at Grenoble 2 and 2012 at Grenoble 3. The fact that the changes were introduced a year apart gave the libraries plenty of time to adapt, but makes the results somewhat difficult to analyse. Above and beyond the budget issues of resources and jobs, the key question is that of the universities, and therefore of the libraries, themselves.
