From a site-specific to an institution-wide policy on information resources: a case study at université Paris-Est

Information resources, which appeared to have been left out of the initial specifications for the PRES at université Paris-Est, founded in 2007, now feature in the organisation chart as one of a number of inter-institutional bodies. The law allows participating members to set up and manage pooled resources, including information resources, but the process takes considerable time. It is vital to be able to draw on extant policy for managing pooled resources at a local level, whether this takes the form of a SICD or a more unusual set-up such as the Polytechnicum groupement d’intérêt public (GIP, or public interest consortium) at Marne-la-Vallée.
