Improving access for third-year university students: new services, new methods, new spaces

Given the currently high dropout rate among undergraduates in France, university libraries have a key role to play in enabling students to make the most of the opportunities universities provide. They must strive to become more accessible -in other words, friendlier, more welcoming and easier to use- and must offer students individually tailored services. They must also radically overhaul their working practices, revitalise their holdings and place them in a clearer context, and offer users a range of points of contact, both on- and off-site, while working in close partnership with the wider university community.
