This article describes the process of creating a collection of electronic documents at the Cheikh-Anta-Diop University (UCAD) library in Dakar. It looks at the historical background to the project and the various stages of its development. The process of electronically archiving research theses and dissertations was implemented and managed by the Cyberdocs platform. The documents are published on the Cyberdocs-UCAD server, then harvested by the portal for French-language thesis and dissertations at the Université Lyon-2. Diéyi Diouf discusses the results of the first few years since the programme was implemented and looks at possibilities for future improvements.
