The Infodor service and non-French-speaking users at the Goutte-d’Or library in Paris

A socio-economic analysis of the deprived Goutte-d’Or neighbourhood in Paris, carried out by the local library when it first opened in 1999, led to the creation of Infodor, an advice service for job-seekers. The library also has a specialist language learning collection. A study is currently being carried out into the feasibility of reorganising the library space to improve the synergy between the two services and improve services for illiterate and non-French-speaking users.
