A new Opac family: Faceted navigation and word clouds
A new Online Public Access Catalog family is promoting faceted navigation, which starts with a basic search request to provide numerous records and successive filters. This type of navigation also encourages associative searches, particularly when linked with word clouds associated with the search term. Faceted catalogues are based on tools principally developed for English-language bases and at the present time are mainly used in major American libraries.
