The Forney Library’s remarkable collections

Since its creation in 1886, the Forney Library has had as its mission to be a picture library. Its iconographical stocks are made up of collections of ephemera (graphics and ephemera as a witness to everyday life), wallpaper, printed material, textiles and cloths, posters, commercial catalogues and postcards. If the indexing of this kind of stock remains problematic, their presence –through a digitization programme– on the multimedia portal of special libraries of the city of Paris should ensure that they reach a wider audience
