Learning to communicate: a new component in the characteristics of the librarian

In university libraries, the role of the library trainer requires specific competences, notably pedagogical, in order to transmit professional knowledge and to train students in the mastery of information work. This aspect of the profession needs to be acknowledged, not just by teacher-researchers with whom the library trainer is led to collaborate despite reciprocal prejudices, but also at the heart of the profession, at times reticent when faced with this "new" mission.
