The cross-cultural implementation of LibQUAL+MC : the French example

LibQUAL+MC is a North American tool for evaluating the quality of services on offer from libraries. It has been adapted for research libraries under the form of an on-line questionnaire. The article proposes a contextual analysis of cross-cultural and linguistic problems linked to the French version of LibQUAL+MC used in Canadian libraries. It demonstrates that the process of translation and its validation guarantees the cross-cultural equivalence of interpretation.
