Management of knowledge transfer between generations: a prerequisite in dealing with penury in the work force

A deceleration in demographic growth, the fall in the active population and the massive retirement of baby-boomers will pose a huge challenge to organizations. The author raises this problem from the point of view of knowledge management: how to insure the change over whilst integrating new resources? How to preserve the expertise of staff who are leaving? How to renew know-how to ensure the development of the organization? He illustrates his points through some specific Canadian examples.
