Public Libraries and patrimony in Spain
State Public libraries in Spain are made up of network of 52 establishments. Specific statistics relating to heritage holdings are not available. Although certain collections have been indexed in the Catálogo de Patrimonio Bibliográfico Español, some even digitised, numerous collections remain uncatalogued. The consultation of fragile and rare collections is reserved for researchers, even if some efforts have been made to highlight them and help bring them to the attention of the general public.
