The National network of mathematical libraries

The Network of mathematical libraries, which came into existence in the late seventies, reuniting librarians and mathematicians, is the place for collective thinking on documentation. Its coherence and determination to give priority to scientific quality allow it to maintain, with the aid of supervisory bodies, in particular since 1995 of the Cellule MathDoc, the quality of mathematical documentation through financial and technological changes. Such subject networks - putting quality before quantity and concerns about long-term archiving - appear to be necessary complements of the huge mechanisms of numerical diffusion.
