Professional training in Brittany: caution, moving site

The important changes in public reading in Brittany over about ten years or so have led to a considerable increase in demand for training, and shown a quantitative shortage of supply (of persons with diplomas, post-recruitment staff, continuous education) and the inappropriateness of the supply system for new services in relation to the reality of recruitment. The various participants in training have gone on to focus on two priority areas: first, the launching of an experimental programme aimed specially at emplois-jeunes (project "Book animation and multimedia"); second, an improvement in the training of assistants territoriaux (project FIA). These two projects have several points in common: their frames of reference are abilities instead of blocks of knowledge, they propose teaching by analysis of practices and action-training, and they end with an optional test of certification, strongly involving professionals.
