The Inathèque de France

The Legal Deposit law, the extension of which to radio and television constitutes a new element, must be considered as one stage in a dynamic process of wide access to the national audiovisual heritage. It has the merit of guaranteeing a truly national heritage policy in this sector of activities. In order to implement its mission, the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel has created a specific department entitled the Inathèque de France, in which tools and methods of archiving have been developed that allow consultation of some very important collections of radio and television documents for purposes of research.
