Fifty years of buildings in the departmental lending libraries

The departmental lending libraries (BDP) have been created just after the 2nd World War, with the general movement of reconstruction of the country. But during the first two decades, there was such a delay to make up with public and university libraries that the construction programmes provided surfaces relatively modest in comparison with the populations to serve. Then the services done by the BDP have been diversified to be adapted to the new demands ; it brought about important changes in the programmes.
