Computerized documents and the future of the legal deposit

The recent law on the legal deposit tries to face the expected arrival of a huge quantity of digitalized informations, but contravenes the multisecular principle of exhaustiveness, in the name of realism. This situation comes from an erroneous conception of the legal deposit : the intellectual notion of work, which really fits to its philosophy, must substitute itself for the material notion of document, which defines today its field of application. The present mistake, without important consequences in the past, could cost - in the literal as well as the figurative sense - within the context of rapid development of computerization and telematics.
