General classifications revised and corrected

It seems nowadays difficult to implement a new classification system, both satisfactory and permanent. The classification by center of interest, which is being rediscovered in France now, offers an excessively reducing simplification, while it remains strongly linked to fashion phenomena. In that case, why to give up classification systems, such as Dewey, that can store new concepts and rest on a knowledge structuring by subject, which derives from the school system ? Instead of reclassifying full library collections, the author suggests that their access should be improved by more means of signalling : setting into space and order can go hand in hand.
