Created in 1963, and attached to the ministry of Education in 1972, " La Joie par les livres " is now focusing its efforts on : spreading the idea that a children library should be a place of research and information on children books and reading ; studying the use of new technologies in a children library ; widening its educational role in order to answer an increasing demand ; then developing its contacts with foreign experiments.
