In 1998, deliberation began in France about the enhancement of bibliographical entries, bringing together librarians, data suppliers and publishers of software. This led to the birth of the « Concertation for enhanced bibliographical information ». Where are we now in 2005? The question was also posed about enlarged standardization, common to several professions. The author of the article lists the different formats in use and their specifications and recalls the work of IFLA concerning the revision of international rules.
