For some years, book fairs have been invading towns and villages. With these exhibitions, a real contact has been established between both ends of the line - the writer and the reader. Thanks to them, the book is in the street, and meets a new audience. The author of this paper takes here as an example the Saint-Étienne book fair and those which have preceded it.
