The bee and the librarian: towards an ethics of books and reading promotion schemes in rural areas
The article combines a study of changing technology and the specificities of rural communities to promote thinking about joint projects, the "theory of practice", and the professional implementation of a knowledge society. It focuses on a case study of a network of multimedia libraries in Tence, St-Jeures and Le Mazet-St-Voy in Haute-Loire (central France), which take a joint approach to information-sharing about their activity programmes, tools, and specific needs.
