The Book and Poster Centre in Chaumont: the origins of the collections

The Book and Poster Centre in Chaumont, a multi-media library and graphic arts centre houses two major collections on the history of the poster and the creation of graphic arts: the Dutailly collection, 5.000 posters donated to the library by Gustave Dutailly in 1906, which reflects the golden age of creative publicity at the end of the 19th century; and the contemporary collection, 27.000 posters collected thanks to an international competition organized by the Poster Festival of Chaumont since its creation in 1990
