Seventeen years in Asia

Founded in 1986, the publishing firm Philippe Picquier is now proposing to produce a catalogue of 700 titles designed to familiarise French readers with Far Eastern cultures in their richness and diversity. The article retraces the development of a publisher that has found out how to win a new public by releasing translations of the principal Asian writers -classical, modern or contemporary- and also essays, art books, reports, and now children's books.
