To translate, or the meeting between cultures

To translate is to consider culture as a connection between cultures. Translation constitutes a focus on civilisation, especially in the actual, ideological context, which makes some reference to the "war of civilisations". The reading of no. 22 of the journal Transeuropéennes, the contribution of Translation Studies, and studies on the processes of "cultural transfer", have nurtured the thinking of the author, which develops in particular the examples of the translations of the Thousand and one nights into European languages and of human rights in Arabic.
