The Bibliothèque municipale internationale: a new facility for the network of libraries of Grenoble

To promote the learning of foreign languages and discovery of the cultures with which they are associated is the objective assigned to the Bibliothèque municipale internationale (BMI). The fifteenth library in the network of municipal libraries of Grenoble, it will open its doors to the public on September 2003. The BMI is original in two ways: firstly, the largest part of its collections is in foreign languages (German, English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese); and secondly, it functions in partnership with the Centre de documentation et d'information de la Cité scolaire, where it is physically located.
