The digital library of Lisieux. State of the sites: myths and realities

After seven years of the regular placing online of texts in the public domain, it is now time for the digital library of Lisieux to try to draw up an account of visits to and use of the site. The statistical report of access to the site, if it allows comparison between the uses presumed by librarians and the actual uses by Internet navigators, should give information especially about the attitude of online users and put the apparent impact of the site in perspective. One senses, however, that the use of digital libraries can be very varied, from the curious amateur strolling along the library's virtual shelves, to the impatient Internet navigator who is undertaking a targeted information activity.
