From the remote provision of documents to shared conservation: the commitment of the CTLes

The CTLes has collected, in six years of existence, material covering 24 kilometres of shelving, presented or deposited by establishments of higher education. Unlike most organizations, which see their activity of remote provision of originals or photocopies stagnating or declining, this activity at the CTLes is experiencing strong and constant progress. The reasons for this increasing popularity are here analysed. As a place for prolonging the life of documentary resources from establishments that have entrusted it with their collections, the CTLes poses, in practical terms, the necessary question about shared conservation of the collections, notably for periodicals. In this sense, it outlines some proposals.
