The hybrid library

This paper discusses the concept of the hybrid library, which has come to prominence in the United Kingdom in recent years. The author relates this development to the creation of a "Distributed National Electronic Resource" (DNER) which is intended to give access to a wide variety of both digital and traditional materials. The functions of the DNER are considered and the key issues for its successful deployment are examined.
